The term 'shaman' is a Tungus Mongolian word loosely translated as 'wise man', and is used generically to refer to spiritual healers from all over the world. Although not accurate, since only the Tungus people referred to their healers as shamans, the term has taken root and is generally accepted to describe spiritual intermediaries and sorcerers from all cultures. Simply, a shaman is a healer that uses spiritual, intuitive life-force, or chi.
